Yamaha 2026 R9

The Yamaha 2026 R9 marks a bold new chapter in Yamaha’s legendary R-Series. Born from decades of race-winning DNA, this next-generation Supersport machine blends MotoGP-inspired technology with thrilling real-world performance. The R9 is the ultimate evolution of Yamaha’s racing spirit.

High-Torque 890cc CP3 Engine

At its heart lies the acclaimed 890cc CP3 triple-cylinder engine, delivering exceptional mid-range torque and exhilarating top-end power. With advanced Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) and refined fuel mapping, the R9 delivers razor-sharp response on both track and road.

Ultra-Light Deltabox Frame & Aerodynamics

Weighing just 195 kg, the R9’s new aluminium Deltabox frame is Yamaha’s lightest ever on a Supersport. Aerodynamic bodywork, downforce winglets, and a sculpted M-duct front design enhance stability at speed, while a lower riding position ensures total control.

Race-Grade Suspension and Brakes

The 43mm KYB fully adjustable forks and Brembo Stylema calipers with 320mm discs deliver pinpoint handling and stopping precision. This system offers R1-level performance in a more accessible package.

Advanced Electronics and Connectivity

A 6-axis IMU powers lean-sensitive traction, slide, and brake control. Choose from four Power Modes, Launch Control, and customisable riding profiles via Yamaha Ride Control (YRC). The 5-inch TFT display connects seamlessly with Yamaha’s MyRide and Y-TRAC apps, letting you log laps, analyse data, and stay connected.

About Yamaha

Yamaha Motor Company began in 1955, emerging from its roots in musical instruments to become a force in engineering and innovation. Led by Genichi Kawakami, Yamaha released its first motorcycle—the YA-1, a 125cc two-stroke. It made an immediate impact, winning its class at the Mount Fuji Ascent Race. That victory set the tone for Yamaha’s bold entrance into motorsports.

Today, the company is headquartered in Iwata, Japan, and operates worldwide. Yamaha designs and manufactures motorcycles, marine products, and various motorized vehicles. Its legacy blends cutting-edge design with a relentless drive for performance—on roads, tracks, and open waters.
