Unveiled in Rome at the Foro Italico During The ’80 Years of an Icon’ Event

We were fortunate enough to be there for the global unveiling, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Rome’s Foro Italico, the Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo was one of the standout moments of the anniversary celebrations. Seeing the unique matt metallic finish and heritage-inspired details in person really highlighted the craftsmanship and attention to detail that make this limited edition so special.

With production limited to just 1,946 individually numbered scooters—a tribute to Vespa’s founding year—this is more than simply a special edition. It’s a collector’s model that celebrates eight decades of Italian design, innovation and freedom on two wheels.

Whether you’re a long-time Vespa enthusiast or discovering the brand for the first time, the Edizione Ottantesimo perfectly captures everything that has made Vespa an icon since 1946. Combining timeless styling with the latest technology, it’s a fitting tribute to one of the world’s most recognisable scooters—and one we’re sure will become highly sought after by collectors and riders alike.

Crafted from the Material of a Legend

At the heart of every Vespa is its iconic steel monocoque body, a symbol of strength, durability, and unmistakable identity.

The Edizione Ottantesimo honours this heritage with a sophisticated matt metallic grey finish inspired by raw steel. Rich green accents on the seat, wheels, and exclusive graphics pay tribute to the earliest Vespa models, creating a striking balance between heritage and modern design.

Every detail reflects eighty years of innovation while remaining faithful to Vespa’s original character.

Exclusive Matching Helmet

Included with every Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo is a specially designed premium helmet that perfectly complements the scooter’s distinctive styling.

The helmet features the same textured matt grey finish as the bodywork, accented by elegant green details. A three-dimensional “80” graphic on the rear mirrors the design featured on the scooter’s side panels, creating a coordinated look that celebrates this historic anniversary.

A silver helmet with green accents sits on a green padded surface, featuring a clear visor and a modern design.

Limited to Just 1,946 Numbered Units

Some numbers define history.

For Vespa, that number is 1946—the year the legend began.

To honour its origins, the Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo will be produced in a strictly limited, individually numbered series of 1,946 units worldwide.

This exclusive production makes every scooter a unique collector’s piece, celebrating the past while opening an exciting new chapter in Vespa history.

  • A colour-matched 36-litre top box

Exclusive Assouline Coffee Table Book
